Dermalogica South Africa has a very special and unique history. One that is centred on passion and the vision of Dermalogica Inc and with it bringing respect to the Professional Skincare Therapist through great products and superb education.
The business was started in 1994 by Lee and Andy Hardie. Cherie Keating, who now heads up the business, has been an integral part of the Dermalogica journey. She started work as a 19 year old with the Company, and has progressed through the business from Sales to Education to General Management, and finally, to Managing Director. Cherie was one of the first staff members of Dermalogica South Africa and arrived at work on her first day in a red mini that leaked so much oil, she was banned from using the driveway. As a new graduate she was wet behind the ears, but she had the passion to make her journey a success and still has the same drive today, as Managing Director, as she did on her first day.
Dermalogica was purchased by the very caring hands of CAVI Brands, Cherie Keating and Nick Kendall in 2007 and continues to represent best practice from a skincare and business perspective.

Remaining true to the core philosophy of the Dermalogica brand and culture is crucial, and the current Management team breathe and sleep this ethos. Nick Kendall, Head of Finance and Supply Chain, and Lauren Michlo, General Manager elect, form a tight band with Cherie Keating and the CAVI Brands team. Jointly, this is one Management team that is going places!
Today we have 60 staff, three regional offices and training schools, over 550 accounts and a brand that we are so proud and passionate about. One thing remains constant: we love Dermalogica and we believe in what we do. One’s challenges change and the Dermalogica business continues to develop, but our business is as exciting as it was 16 years ago. Dermalogica is always pioneering new concepts, whether it is products, or mindsets. We are a brand of change and feel a responsibility to lead the Professional Skincare Industry into the future.
The best reward for the past years and all the hard work is when people acknowledge Dermalogica with a sparkle in their eye. We often hear “I LOVE Dermalogica!!!” and that is the real reason we do what we do. A special brand, a unique tribe and no better place to be than… right here… right now.
